One of the most common questions I hear from Twitter users is “How do I format a Twitter Background?”
When changing a Twitter background you don’t get much room around the content to show off your background. There are a couple issues we can’t change: 1. The Twitter content is always centered on the screen 2. It’s always the same width 760 pixels 3. It’s location is in the same vertical position 70 pixels from the top of the page.
Solution: Choose an image large enough to cover the entire background. A general rule is the resolution should be 1024 x 768, or 1280 x800.
Create an image with a 120- pixel strip, 1024 x768 wide along the left side that you want people to see.
