Here are the Top 10 Tips to Get Traffic with Internet Yellow Pages:
1. Optimize Your Business Name. Use your keywords in your business name. Don’t be afraid to add your city to your business name, for example “Tony’s Pizza Brooklyn, instead of just “Tony’s Pizza.”
2. Effective Headline. Don’t just think of Internet Yellow Pages as a platform to promote your phone number. Internet Yellow Pages are a great place to turn a prospect into a sale. Gain the reader’s attention with a strong headline.
3. Keywords, Keywords, Keywords. Pick a two or three of your top keywords and use them throughout your Internet Yellow Pages profile. Use Google AdWords Keyword Tool, a great free tool to generate ideas www.google.com/adwords/keywordtool.
4. Make Them Look. Focus on writing compelling copy to attract and engage your target audience in from the search engines and directories.
5. Buyer Beware. While Internet Yellow Pages are free to join, almost all of them will try to up-sell you a variety of services; more pictures, e-mail link, more detailed company description, a link to a coupon that customers can print out. Only spend the money if it fits your needs.
6. Use a Professional Picture. Don’t post poor quality photos of your business. A picture is worth a thousand words.
7. Positive User Reviews. Encourage friends to comment on your business. When we see a large number of positive reviews for a restaurant, book, or movie, we are much more inclined to want to learn more.
8. Pick the Correct Category. Make sure to pick the correct category for your business. You would be surprised how many people are lazy here. Make sure you fill out the information correctly. Internet Yellow Pages classify businesses by product, service, geographically, annual business volume, age of business, etc.
9. Embed Your Business Address in Your Website. To make it easy for the search engines to find your site, put your business address in the following places; your website’s title and meta description, website footer, and inside the body of the text of your web pages.
10. Utilize as Many Internet Yellow Pages as Possible. The more places you can put your business information the easier it will be for your customers to find you.
