You are in for a treat, you are about to learn the top 20 tips to make money from Google Adsense.

1.      Take your time in the beginning. Even though you can get started in minutes, only fools rush in. I know you are excited about making money, but first understanding how Google Adsense works.

2.      Create a site for humans first and Google Adsense second. Once you have a site you are proud of, then add Adsense.

3.      Traffic, Traffic, Traffic. The amount you make from Google Adsense will be directly proportional to your traffic. If you increase you traffic, you will increase your income. More visitors equal more clicks, which means more money for you.  Your site is kind of like an online magazine or book. You need a lot of articles/content about your niche. Unless you have 100 plus articles, your traffic will be low. Focus on building traffic first.

4.      Add enough ads. Put 1-3 adverts in each post. Google allow 3 ad units, 3 ad links or 2 Adsense boxes on any page. Don’t hide your ads, be proud of them.

5.      Experiment with different sizes. Studies reveal 336×280 large rectangle, 300×250 inline rectangle and 160×600 wide skyscraper have the highest click through rate. Increased click through rate equals increased income.

6.      Try different colors. Some believe your ads should stand out while most experts feel they should blend in with your site theme. The best approach is the one that works the best for you. Try both and test the results.

7.      Create your ads with the same font as the font on your site. If you use TIMES NEW ROMAN font on you site, use TIMES NEW ROMAN in your ads. This will help blend your ads into your pages.

8.      Keep the font size of your ads, the same as the font size of the text on your site.

9.      Place ads only on content pages. Don’t create pages with ads and no content. Remember that Adsense is not allowed on web pages with; MP3, video, news groups, image results, pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.

10.  Get rid of too many fancy graphics on your site, which can distract visitors from your content and ads. Keep it simple.

11.  Use image ads. Google gives you the option to use “text ads” and “text & image ads.” Image ads generally perform better than text ads. Try both and test which ones has a higher CTR.

12.  Place ads near your most popular navigational links. The more times your ads can be put in front of someone the better.

For example if you have a site about “Real Estate,” for someone to competitively bid on a keyword like “Real Estate Leads” it will cost about $25.00 per click. However if your site is about “Underwater Basket Weaving” it’s only a couple cents per click. Since Google splits 50% (exact amount varies) of their revenue with the site owner, it pays more to have higher priced keywords.

17.  Use Google Analytics to track traffic. Look for patterns on days when you had a high number of clicks to find out where that traffic came from.

18.  Be patient. The reason 99% of people will never make a cent online is because they are not patient.

19.  Be realistic. Unless you have a high traffic site, you won’t make much money from Adsense. Just by adding Adsense to your site will not make you a millionaire. Know this going in.
