How Do I Format a Twitter Background?
By Josh Fuller on Jul 14, 2009 in Twitter
One of the most common questions I hear from Twitter users is “How do I format a Twitter Background?”
When changing a Twitter background you don’t get much room around the content to show off your background. There are a couple issues we can’t change:
-
The Twitter content is always centered on the screen
-
It’s always the same width 760 pixels
-
It’s location is in the same vertical position 70 pixels from the top of the page.
Solution: Choose an image large enough to cover the entire background. A general rule is the resolution should be 1024 x 768, or 1280 x800.
Create an image with a 120- pixel strip, 1024 x768 wide along the left side that you want people to see.
