You are about to learn the Top 6 Secrets to Not Getting Flagged on Craigslist
1. Register at least 4 free email accounts with Gmail, since you can only post every 48 hours, 4 email accounts will let you post daily
- Step 1: Go to Gmail (www.gmail.com), then click on Sign up for Gmail, once you have created your account, go to Settings and click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP , then click on Forwarding: Forward a copy of incoming mail to email address, in the email address box add your primary email address you always use and click Save Changes, the new email address you just created will forward all messages to your primary account
- Step 2: Set up craigslist account(s), go to www.craigslist.com and click on My Account, nter Email / Handle: and Password, when it says Your account needs to be authenticated by phone, enter in your number, craigslist will sent your phone a confirmation code to finish setting up the account, to get another account you need to repeat the process with another
2. Open up a free image hosting account at Photobucket, Craigslist uses ebots that scan ads for similar text and when they find one they FLAG or delete it. One way around this is to create ads as images. Craigslist ebots cannot see text saved as an image. You can very easily convert text to an image file (jpeg) at http://convert.neevia.com, once you have converted the text to image file, copy and the HTML Code into the craigslist ad Body. very simple
3. Using a different IP address will prevent Craigslist from bumping your ad. Your IP Address is a string of numbers based on the exact location of your computer and internet connection. Use the computer’s of your family members, roommates, or a local library
4. Write multiple headlines for your ad. Try different buzz words, like; free, new, fun, attention, stop, etc, for example: Stop: Realtors Make 10k a Month!!
5. Avoid hyperlink to your website. This a great way to get flagged instantly. Put the domain name as text without www. or put it into an image.
6. Match your headline to the corresponding category you are posting to. Don’t try to sell a surfboard in the jobs categories

Josh,
I have about 20 accnts with CL right now, but they are telling me I need to phone verify now! Any idea how to get around this. I can login to the accounts from other computers without this problem and it only happens from my laptop.
Thanks,
Basil NYC

Basil,
To get 20 accounts phone verified you need to get access to 20 different phones, ask your friends, family, co-workers. If you can’t login from your laptop it sounds like you have posted too much from your laptop and they have black listed your IP address.

I think Craigslist is treating their faithful advertisers, who have made them what they are, unfairly. If you even are in the vicinity of a banned IP address you will get your IP banned.
And the message that comes up after you place an ad, asking if you like to make another posting, why is it there? Their rules don’t allow it looks like to me??? If you can’t post in multiple categories or cities, why on earth would I want to make another post??
And is Craigslist not aware that the internet is an amazing source of income for sales persons selling their goods online. Now why would any advertising site limit posting to multiple cities? Where would Amazon be if they could only sell their goods in 1 city at a time. Geeeez, Craigslist, get real!!

how can you tell if your ip address has been black listed?
By Josh Fuller on May 29, 2010 | Reply
Peter,
The simplest and easiest way to tell if your ip address have been black listed on Craigslist is after you make a post, wait about 20-30 minutes, then search Craigslist for your post. Your post should appear, if it doesn’t then you know your ip address was black listed
