How to Set up a Free Wordpress Blog?

Step 1: Go to http://wordpress.com/

Step 2: At the top of the page you will see a blue button that says “Sign Up Now”

Step 3: Now you want to create a Username, Password, Email Address

Step 4: Enter Blog Domain, this can’t be changed, so choose carefully.

Step 5: Next enter the Blog Title, what is your blog about. For example “Free Internet Marketing Tips, Tricks, and Secrets to Explode Any Online Business”

Step 6: Pick the Language

Step 7: Enter your First Name, Last Name, and About Yourself

Step 8: An email is sent to your email address, click on the link in the email to activate your account.

Step 9: Click Login and enter your Username and Password

Step 10: Go to Posts (there are posts installed by default we don’t want)

Click on “Hello world” and Delete, we don’t want it there

Step 11: Click on Pages

Click on “About: (this is where we will write about yourself) ex. Hi, I’m Josh Fuller, Founder and creator of www.billionairebythirty.com…..

Step 12: Click on Links (there are links to other sites we want to delete, we only want links to our sites we are going to earn money from or links that are part of our business)

Click on all links and Delete

Step 13: Click on Categories (they need to be keywords related to your website)

Click Uncategories, then Category Name, enter your category, ex. Internet Marketing Tips, Tricks and Secrets
Under Category Slug- (lowercase no spaces) type- internetmarketingtipstricksandsecrets
Under Category Parent (none)
Under Description- All about how to market your business online and profit from it
Click “Update Category”

Step 14: We want to add more categories, scroll down to Add Category

Under Category Name, write category ex. Meet Billionaire By Thirty
Category Slug- (lowercase no spaces)ex. meetbillionairebythirty
Category Parent (none)
Description- Meet Billionaire By Thirty- Josh Fuller
Click “Update Category

Step 15: Click on Tags (Web 2.0 tool used to sort information, when people come to your site and see a tag about “Article Marketing,” they can click on the tag and see all the post related to that tag)

Click delete Test Post

Step 16: Click on Link

Then click “Link Categories”
Click Blogroll
Change Category name Blogroll to another name like “Related Sites” (you want to put something that will help make people want to click here for more information, in links we are going to add new links to your site, to affiliate programs, linking to your own sites will help with SEO
In “Category Slug: relatedsites

Step 17: We want to pick a new Theme, the default is boring

Click on Appearance, there are 2 default themes, scroll to bottom of the page and click on Wordpress theme directory
Click on preview to see what it looks like, Click Download,

Step 18: We want to change Wordpress Settings

Click on General Settings, for Blog Title click your title with keywords ex. Billionaire By Thirty, under Tagline, explain what the blog is about, ex. Internet Marketing Tips, Tricks, and secrets to explode any business
Click Writing, under Update Services- you want to add other ping services so your changes are updated across the board
Under Reading Tab, change “Blog pages show at most” to 3 posts, if you have more than 3 it’s too long and hard to read and won’t work well with Adsense, for “for each article in a feed, show” ‘Full text”
Discussion Settings, click “Before a comment appears” check “an administrator must always approve the comment ” so you don’t get inappropriate comments, under Comment Moderation “hold a comment in the queue if it contains 2 or more links,” (spam tends to have many links)
Privacy Settings, don’t change
Permalinks, change default, not very good for your SEO purpose, click on “day and name” because you have keywords in post
Go to Discussion, click “an administrator must always approve the comment,” under comment moderations, set to 2 or more links, put in words like:
